Day 112 of 365 (Year Two)
Week 66, Assignment 3 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.
Inspired by REM. I really lost faith with this band back in the early 90\'s, but when they come out and say "Yep, we lost our way..." I\'ve got to respect that. Show us something inspired by REM.
I\'m not the biggest REM fan. I think I might know two songs off the top of my head. Losing My Religion and It\'s The End Of The World As We Know It (or whatever the title of that song is). In doing research for this assignment, I have come to the conclusion that most of their songs don\'t make any sense when you read them. Listening might be different, but the lyrics don\'t make a lick of sense in most of the songs. Maybe it is just me, but I was scratching my head after reading the lyrics to almost every single song.
Anyway, I decided to go with what I knew, as limited as that may be.
Losing My Religion
Life is bigger
It\'s bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I\'ve said too much
I set it up
That\'s me in the corner
That\'s me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don\'t know if I can do it
Oh no I\'ve said too much
I haven\'t said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
Every whisper
Of every waking hour I\'m
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I\'ve said too much
I set it up
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I\'ve said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
